Once upon a memory...
...favorite books were read, treasured, loaned, returned and read again. Board games grew tattered from summer vacations and Saturday sleepovers. Families piled into station wagons for road trips, guided by maps and eating homemade goodies packed into tins.
Eventually, the maps were folded for the last time, the tins grew dusty on basement shelves, and the books and board games were moved from one place to another until someone decided enough was enough and sent them away to live in obscurity...unhappily ever after.
But that's not the ending.
Because, if it was loved once, it deserves to be loved again. At least, that's how we see it.
At Goathill Productions, we see possibilities in everything, but especially in well-worn, once-loved, vintage items. Believing that all things have their own special kind of soul, our hearts twist each time we come across a formerly treasured item that no longer feels useful.
So we rescue old books from libraries, vintage tins from thrift stores, and board games with missing pieces from yard sales, and give them new life as albums and memo boards and coasters and sculptures, and all sorts of useful things or you to delight in.
Touch a heart. Trigger a memory.
The best things in life have meaning: the book that changed your life, the game you played EVERY...SINGLE...DAY...the summer you were nine, the tin that someone gave your mom that was just "too pretty to throw away."
One of our favorite things is when someone buys one of our albums or memo boards for themselves or as a gift for someone else, and tells us, "This was my best friend's favorite book in the world, but she can't find it in print anymore," or "Oh my gosh, this map reminds me of the trip we took to the Grand Canyon with my grandparents."
At Goathill, everything we make is one-of-a-kind, and designed to elicit the best kind of memories. We love retaining signs of former ownership like book inscriptions and map notations because we think it give our creations even more personality.
We never limit our creativity, but we do specialize in certain items—things you know you can always find here, including:
Anything Albums Made from the covers of old books both familiar and arcane, our blank albums can be used for anything. Think journals and photo albums, recipes and ticket stubs, travel memorabilia and scrapbooks.
Tinfolk For gardens and entryways and porches and tabletops, Tinfolk give new life to tins that are too special to toss.
Homeware Book boxes, coasters, paper trees, memo boards, ornaments and more, made from old books, maps, and vintage games.
In addition, we have truly unique, limited edition collections that we call:
Miscellanea (or "look what we found!") These are true originals, made from treasures we stumble upon. You never know what you'll find here, but when it's gone it's gone, so if you find something you love, you better act fast to claim it!
